The periodontal decline

The problem is not one bad visit. It is the direction things move over time.

Gum health rarely changes all at once. The warning signs can become familiar, then slowly more serious, while each appointment focuses only on what needs attention that day.

01

Your gums bleed sometimes

You notice a little pink when you brush or floss, but it does not seem serious.

02

Bleeding becomes routine

It happens more often, including during cleanings, and starts to feel normal.

03

The spaces get deeper

The gums begin to pull away from the teeth, creating deeper areas that are harder to keep clean.

04

The support around the teeth can begin to break down

If inflammation continues, the bone and tissue holding the teeth in place can gradually be lost.

05

Treatment gets more involved

You may need a deep cleaning, visits every three or four months, or more treatment to keep the disease from moving forward.

Not everyone follows this path. Catching the change early gives us more opportunity to keep it from getting this far.

What we do differently

We find what keeps your gums inflamed. Then we build your care around it.

The goal is simple: healthier gums, stronger support around your teeth, and a better chance of keeping your natural teeth for life.

The
Mouth Lab
Typical
visit
Time to investigate why problems keep returning
Your gum health tracked as a trajectory, not a snapshot
Salivary testing that reveals what cannot be seen
Modern tools like laser and ozone integrated into care
Targeted care built around your biology
A plan designed to protect your natural teeth for decades

Typical is not wrong. Most hygienists would love more time to do all of this. We built a practice that has it.

Nothing wrong yet?

Prevention is the whole point.

You do not need a problem to belong here. The easiest gum disease to treat is the kind that never starts, and the measurements we track from visit to visit are how healthy mouths stay healthy for decades. If you want to keep your natural teeth for life, the best time to start paying attention is while everything still feels fine.

Who is behind this

Built by two women who could not stop asking why.

Founder · Biologically certified dental hygienist Angelina Geon RDH, BSDH, HIAOMT

Angelina has spent her career going deeper than the cleaning, with advanced training in biological dental hygiene, periodontal therapy, salivary diagnostics, and oral-systemic health. Every assessment, care plan, and visit in this practice runs on the clinical model she built. This is not a new direction for her. It is the practice she has been preparing for her entire career.

Research translated into real care Jazmin Platero BS

Jazmin came to oral health through kinesiology, the study of how the whole body works as one system, which is exactly how this practice treats the mouth. Here she leads operations and the patient experience, co-authors clinical research on the oral microbiome, and makes sure everything we find is explained clearly, in English or in Spanish.

Good to know

Wondering how this actually works?

Is this a dentist's office?

The Mouth Lab Oral Wellness is an independent dental hygiene practice. Your examinations, imaging, and hygiene care all happen here, and for anything outside our scope we work closely with dentists and refer you to the right provider.

Can I keep my current dentist?

Yes. Our model is designed to work alongside your dentist. You do not need to leave a provider you trust in order to receive hygiene and oral wellness care with us.

Does every patient receive salivary or microbiome testing?

Not automatically, but we recommend it for nearly everyone. Our goal is at least one salivary test a year for every patient, the same way an annual set of x-rays gives us a baseline to compare against. And when we are actively working on something, like calming inflammation or shifting your microbiome, we may test more often to confirm the plan is working.

What will visits cost, and do you take insurance?

We are an independent practice, and we are finalizing pricing and insurance details now. The waitlist will see everything first, before booking opens, so you will know exactly what a visit costs before you reserve anything. Depending on your plan, out-of-network reimbursement may be an option, and HSA and FSA funds can typically be used for dental hygiene care. It is worth confirming the details with your plan.

When will appointments open?

We are working toward a December 2026 opening. People on the Founding Patient Waitlist will receive appointment access before booking is released publicly.
